May 1, 2006: Global welcomes Maurice Flynn as Vice President of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East

Global Geophysical is pleased to welcome Maurice Flynn as Vice President of Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME). Maurice brings with him almost 30 years of experience in Eastern Hemisphere seismic operations, during which he cultivated a worldwide network of client and contractor relationships and established himself as one of the best operators in the business.

Maurice began his career at Western Geophysical, where he quickly demonstrated his proficiency in seismic operations and leadership skills. He advanced through the ranks as Project Manager, Operations Manager and Country Manager, broadening his expertise while working in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Syria, China, United Arab Emirates, Chad, Tunisia, Somalia and Oman.

Early in his geophysical career, Maurice led Western’s entry into the China marketplace, collaborating with the local geophysical entity in Da Qing, supplying seismic crews, and training local operators how to use and maintain state-of-the art equipment. As Area Operations Supervisor of Central Asia, Maurice directed negotiations that secured a multi-year, multi-crew shallow water and transition zone operation in the Caspian Sea region of Kazakhstan for OKIOC, a consortium of oil company clients. He directed Western’s successful entry into Kazakhstan and liaised closely with local government agencies to ensure a smooth launch of operations in this extremely sensitive environment.

Most recently, Maurice served as Vice President of EAME and Vice President of Worldwide Operations Support for the Onshore division of Petroleum Geo Services (PGS). He directed PGS Onshore’s expansion into the Eastern Hemisphere seismic market, establishing company operations in Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh and India and growing annual revenues for the region from $10M to $50M over a period of three years.

Global President Richard Degner states, “We are so fortunate to have Maurice, not only for his vast expertise and established reputation in the seismic industry, but for his talents as a proficient business administrator. I have had the pleasure of working with Maurice as a senior manager both for Western Geophysical and PGS. Maurice’s combined EAME operating experience, business acumen, technical knowledge, and work ethic is an enormous asset to our company.”

Maurice will be based out of Houston and is supported by his direct reports, Robin Guscette, EAME Operations Managers and Peter Wakeling, EAME Business Development Director. Maurice will lead Global’s marketing and bidding activities throughout the Eastern Hemisphere.
